Putting it into Practice: using observations for reflection and planning. The second part of the ELG/AODCP series is designed for individuals who are familiar with the history of the ELG and have a basic understanding of what Authentic Observation means. In part II, learning will center on formulating a process cycle for observation, documentation and process planning as well as starting the reflective process. 4 hours (NM Competencies: 1. 0.5 hr, 3. 1 hr, 4. 1 hr, 5. 0.5 hr, 6. 0.5 hr, 7. 0.5 hr)
– Required for 1st year NM PreK Teachers (Equivalent to NM PreK New Teacher Training when you have completed Early Learning Series: How Children Learn Through Play, Early Learning Series: Foundations of the ELG and AODCP, Early Learning Series: Putting It Into Practice, and Early Learning Series: Weaving It All Together)

Objective 1: By the end of this training, you will have linked observation to essential indicator or components in the NM Early Learning Guidelines. Objective 2: By the end of this training, you will have practiced collecting sources of evidence for AODCP process. Objective 3: By the end of this training, you will have assigned rubric rating to match a child’s performance. Objective 4: By the end of this training, you will have reviewed sample child documentation on collection forms. Objective 5: By the end of this training, you will have written one learning objective and one teacher support strategy based off on observation.
