Social Emotional Support for Young Children - HYBRID

Overview
Research shows that supporting healthy Social Emotional development is a key skill for all child care providers. This session will explore how children communicate through their behaviors, offer practical suggestions for supporting social emotional development in group care settings, and give child care providers an opportunity to explore their own strengths and challenges with this topic.
Objective
Objectives 
By the end of this session you will have:
1. Identified feeling words & practiced recognizing the feelings associated with various child behaviors.
2. Given examples of phrases & strategies to fill their "emotional piggy banks", and the emotional banks of the children in their care.
3. Demonstrated how to turn an everyday routine into a ritual that helps children build connections with peers and adults.
